In this wonderful interview, realised in collaboration with the Giannino Bassetti Foundation and coordinated by Jonathan Hankins, Maurizio Montalti, our co-founder and Chief Mycelium Officer, discusses his early research and work developed in collaboration with living organisms, which began as part of his pioneering design studio practice Officina Corpuscoli, through the creation of artworks.
Indeed, during such early investigations, Maurizio Montalti focused on how biological organisms such as fungi could be employed to create new sustainable materials; hence, laying the foundations, together with our CEO Stefano Babbini, for the subsequent creation of mogu.
