Position Summary
Mogu is looking for a Chemical R&D Intern (extra-curricular internship) to join our R&D and Product Development Team, dedicated to the development of innovative, sustainable, commercial and industrial products for the segment of interior design and Green Building. At Mogu, the candidate will experience the process of high-end innovative product development, within a multidisciplinary and international environments, following the process from lab to industrial scale.
Mogu is a start-up company with 20 employees, 4 product lines, 3 production teams and a large number of industrial partnership. Strongly committed on the development of Bio-based materials, Mogu grounds its product development process on Circular Economy and Design-driven innovation methods. Here, you’ll learn how to develop products responding to market request, which nevertheless fulfill the needs of a more sustainable and responsible future for the built environment.
Main tasks
Reporting to the Chemical &Process Developer, the chosen candidate will be in charge for performing a range of activities, such as:
- Support in the design, development & testing of new sustainable materials for interior design, specifically of biobased polyurethane formulation, for coating or casting, deriving from Mogu Floor Flex product portfolio;
- Prototyping and experimentation aimed at developing new materials and their characterisation;
- Sampling for commercial customers of new colors and finishes;
- Scheduling, planning and reporting experiments with a structured work method;
- Formulation of polyurethane-based coatings and casting recipes;
- Mixture preparation;
- Color prototyping and preparation of samples;
- Support in the quality control on production artefacts.
Skills and Qualifications
- MSc, preferably in Chemistry, or Diploma of High School in related fields
- Solid knowledge of Chemistry, specifically of analytic chemistry, instrumental chemistry, inorganic chemistry;
- Understanding & knowledge of Industrial Chemistry, particularly of coating & lamination technology; preferable to have knowledge of PVC production, lamination, and High solids technology; preferable to have previous experience in industry
- Understanding of finishing treatments for wood (preferable)
- Solid empirical basis, ability and experience to work in lab environments, manual skills;
- Autonomy and excellent use of laboratory equipment and measuring instruments;
- Practical & hands-on attitude
- Soft team work skills; able to work in highly multidisciplinary environments; positive & reflective attitude; ability to work under pressure with a calm, resilient and problem-solving attitude.
- Total comfort and fluency in both spoken and written English (Italian optional)
- Excellent use of Office tools (excel, word, powerpoint) as well as Internet and Emails;
- Openness and Sense of humor

Task principali
Riportando al Chemical & Process Developer, il candidato prescelto sarà incaricato di svolgere una serie di attività, quali:
- Supporto nella progettazione, sviluppo e test di nuovi materiali sostenibili per l'interior design, in particolare di formulazione poliuretanica a base biologica, per rivestimento o colata, derivanti dal portafoglio di prodotti Mogu Floor Flex;
- Prototipazione e sperimentazione finalizzata allo sviluppo di nuovi materiali e alla loro caratterizzazione;
- Campionamento per clienti commerciali di nuovi colori e finiture;
- Programmazione, pianificazione e rendicontazione degli esperimenti con un metodo di lavoro strutturato;
- Preparazione mescole
- Messa a punto di formulazioni
- Prototipazione colore e preparazione campionari;
- Supporto nel controllo qualità sui manufatti di produzione.
Qualifiche e competenze richieste
- Diploma di Perito Chimico o Laurea in Chimica;
- Solida conoscenza di chimica analitica, chimica strumentale, chimica inorganica;
- Esperto in processi di spalmatura, particolarmente di sistemi poliuretanici, ma apprezzabile anche PVC, accoppiatura, e high solids; apprezzabile anche esperienze su impianto;
- Conoscenze e interesse adatte alla formulazione / applicazione di finiture superficiali per materiali a base legno, tessile o cellulosici (vernici, resine naturali, polimeri, cere);
- Autonomia e ottimo utilizzo di apparecchiature di laboratorio e di strumenti di misurazione;
- Buona manualità e propensione/interesse a prove empiriche di laboratorio;
- Buona conoscenza della lingua inglese (parlata e scritta);
- Ottima conoscenza del pacchetto office: excel, word; power point, ecc…
- Ottima conoscenza dell’uso di posta elettronica e navigazione internet;
- Attitudine al lavoro di gruppo e problem solving;
- Mentalità aperta e disponibile a lavorare in gruppi multidisciplinari, attitudine proattiva e capacità di gestire problematiche lavorative con tranquillità, affidabilità e leggerezza.

Position Summary
In order to further implement and expand on an ambitious communication strategy, Mogu is currently hiring for an Intern in "Marketing and Digital Communication", with emphasis on social media management and the related contents. The company is primarily looking for applicants with background and early experience in the fields of interior design, architecture, furniture and fashion.
Main tasks
Reporting to the Communication Team, the chosen candidate will be responsible for activities, such as:
- Contributing to integrate and expand on the Company's Digital Communication Plan
- Creating textual and visual contents, in line with the Company's Communication Strategy
- Monitoring and reporting about Communication Activities
- Supporting activities related to Events such as Fairs & Exhibitions
- Supporting customer-care activities
- Supporting activities related to new products launches
- Supporting marketing and advertising campaigns
Key Responsibilities
- Develop/maintain social media profiles and quality content.
- Prepare proposals and implement plans in relation to the Company's Social Media Marketing and Digital Communication
- Accurately report about communication activities (e.g. analytics and performance evaluation)
- Liaise with other team members about ongoing and upcoming Production and Development activities

Skills and Qualifications
- Educational Background: MA/BA preferably with specialisation in Digital Media Marketing and experience within the fields of interior design, architecture, furniture or fashion.
- Professional Background: experience in commercial/marketing roles, within the fields of interior design, architecture, or furniture.
- Computer Knowledge: Good skills in relation to use of the main Office automation softwares and analysis’ tools.
- Communication: Experienced in social media marketing and in strategies related to the use of digital channels (social networks, web-news, etc.).
- Independence: capacity to drive a project and advance suitable propositions.
- Team spirit: capacity to work on projects together with colleagues and teams.
- Language Knowledge: Excellent written and spoken English. Other extra languages are of course appreciated.
- Others: analytical capacities, communication skills, desirable interest and overall resonance for topics related to sustainability and environmental responsibility, creative, committed, propositive, responsible, flexible.

Mogu is looking for a Composite Developer to join our R&D and Product Development Team, dedicated to the development of innovative, sustainable, commercial and industrial products for the segment of interior design.
Main tasks
Reporting to the Management Team, the chosen candidate will be in charge for performing a range of activities, such as:
- Design, development & testing of new sustainable materials for interior design, specifically of fibre-based materials, pressed or not pressed, deriving from mycelium technology and from Mogu know-how, to be implemented in standard and existing industrial technologies.
- Prototyping and experimentation campaigns aiming to develop new materials and their characterisation;
- Analysis and evaluation of costs & advantages of said materials, comparing them with existing & commercially available ones;
- Evaluation & design of said materials based on the industrial manufacturing process entailed, as well as of economic, innovation, and sustainability drivers;
- Support the definition of the industrial manufacturing process and the corresponding plant;
- Support the characterisation and certification of Mogu products and materials;
- Research and selection of potential raw material suppliers
- Contribute to the good working environment.
Skills and Qualifications
- Solid knowledge of materials science, specifically of composite materials, preferably of fibreboard materials (such as MDF, OSB)
- Understanding & knowledge of Industrial Chemistry, specifically of binding mechanics of composite materials, and binders / additives to increase their performance;
- Knowledge of industrial production processes of fibreboard / composite materials
- Previous experience in industry, related to product and materials development or manufacturing;
- MSc, preferably in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Industrial Chemistry or related
- 5 years working experience
- Soft team work skills; able to work in highly multidisciplinary environments; positive & reflective attitude; ability to work under pressure with a calm, resilient and problem-solving attitude.
- Experience with biofabrication is a plus but not mandatory
