Mogu is proud to announce its collaboration as the official material supplier for the highly anticipated “Myco-Fabrication” workshop, organized by Domaine de Boisbuchet, together with Miriam Josi and Stella Lee Prowse from the French studio Aléa. This innovative event began on July 21 and will conclude on July 27, promising to be a unique experience for architects, designers, and eco-friendly design enthusiasts.

Exploring the Potential of Mycelium

The workshop, led by the designer duo Aléa and the architecture firm Park Associati, focuses on the extraordinary versatility and ecological benefits of mycelium, the filamentous structure of fungi. Participants have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of mycelium, exploring how this organism can transform and bind organic materials, offering new possibilities for sustainable design.

Mogu Panels, a virtuous end-of-life scheme

Mogu, which typically implements a virtuous end-of-life scheme to regenerate products without generating waste, has found a new way to reuse its materials. Perfectly adhering to the philosophy of the circular economy, Mogu has provided second-life materials for the workshop. These panels represent the culmination of years of research and development in sustainable materials. Made through a process that uses mycelium and agro-industrial residues, our panels offer an innovative and eco-friendly solution for construction and design.

Features and Benefits

  1. Sustainability: The panels are made from soft, foam-like mycelium materials and of upcycled textile residues, reducing environmental impact and promoting a circular economy.
  2. Versatility: Thanks to the unique properties of mycelium, the panels can be used in a variety of applications, from interior design to architecture.
  3. Performance: Our panels offer thermal and acoustic insulation properties, making them ideal for various construction solutions.
  4. Natural Aesthetics: The natural texture and appearance of the panels add a unique, organic touch to any project.

A Practical and Collaborative Experience

During the week-long workshop, participants work closely with Aléa, known for their pioneering work with mycelium-based materials and experimental processes. With the support of Park Associati, they have access to a curated toolkit that allows them to build a mobile lab, reinterpreted by each participant through experimental joinery with their fungal collaborators.

A New Way of Thinking and Creating

This workshop is not just an opportunity to learn new techniques but also to reconsider the tools, processes, and spaces used in collaboration with non-human organisms. Participants will deepen their understanding of the properties of mycelium and its potential applications in a practical and stimulating context.

Why Participate?

The “Myco-Fabrication” workshop is designed to inspire creativity, promote transdisciplinary collaboration, and foster a greater appreciation for the complex web of relationships in nature. It is a unique opportunity to explore new frontiers of sustainable design and pave the way for future innovations.
