MOGU AT THE GERMAN PAVILION OF EXPO 2025 OSAKA

Matter can be alive.
It can listen, absorb, transform.
It can tell stories of innovation and respect — of symbiosis between nature and culture.

This is exactly the role that Mogu is proud to embody at Expo 2025 Osaka, within the German Pavilion, where our PLUMA Acoustic Panels have been installed, contributing to give shape — and voice — to a radically circular vision of the future.

THE GERMAN PAVILION: A LIVING MANIFESTO OF REGENERATIVE DESIGN

Curated by Koelnmesse GmbH on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, the Pavilion presents itself as an architectural manifesto — an immersive space where materials, ideas, and technologies converge into a virtuous ecosystem.

With this in mind, the German Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka is designed to serve as a prototype in myriad ways, its buildings are completely round, and all the materials are reusable or recyclable.

In such context, Mogu’s PLUMA panels are not mere acoustic surfaces, but living symbols of a new way of designing, building, and inhabiting the world.

BORN FROM MYCELIUM, SHAPED BY FERMENTATION

Each PLUMA panel is the result of an extraordinary process: grown from the mycelium and upcycled textile residues and shaped through fermentation, these panels represent a radical alternative to synthetic materials.

Thin, high-performing, naturally sound-absorbing, and fully biodegradable, they carry within them the intelligence of nature and the sensitivity of contemporary design.

200 PANELS FOR AN IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE

At Expo 2025, nearly 200 PLUMA panels have been installed both inside and outside the Pavilion, creating immersive acoustic environments where nature, science, and environmental responsibility come together.

Inside the structure — inspired by the circle, a universal symbol of continuity and regeneration — the panels guide visitors through a sensory journey, where design is not just aesthetics, but message, matter, and function.

BEYOND SUSTAINABILITY: TOWARD A NEW MATERIAL CULTUREE

Mogu PLUMA panels fully embody the Pavilion’s theme: “Circular Design. Circular Life.” Not only for their biological origin, but for what they represent: a new material culture, in which every element is designed to return value to the system it originates from.

In a world that is looking at the future, Mogu panels offer a concrete response to key challenges such as climate change, pollution, and material waste.

Mogu is proud to contribute to this vision, bringing its materials to a future that is already taking shape.
